Before I get to a personal update that it’s been really tough to keep from you, I’m going to share a couple of your favorite letters (most read) and my favorite letters. Plus, my sweet friend

You are not your momma's trauma
My husband says that it is impossible to get rid of this plant after it appears, yet it needs to be destroyed, otherwise the damage will be too great. Otherwise, he’ll have to (gladly) get the chainsaw out and start cutting things down.

And… here is my personal update:
If you follow along either here or on socials or both (we are a busy crew), you will know that the past couple months have been tough for a number of reasons. I lost a dear friend to overdose, have been working to address the lack of women’s recovery housing in our small town, and lots of other things related to what I like to call my day job.
In a wonderful turn of events, I was offered an exciting opportunity and I’ve gratefully accepted. Beginning officially this coming week, along with hosting the annual IWD event, I’ll be starting a new job as the Managing Editor of Recovery.com. I’ll be working with a team of writers on bringing informative and valuable content related to mental health and addiction recovery. I am SO EXCITED!!! I’ll also be helping to build a contributor network and so be on the look out for requests from me to share your story! Let’s keep working to address stigma, share stories, and ultimately help more people access the support they need.
