I am trying to not pass "this" down to my daughter (10 years old) though I see her noticing. Noticing whether I eat "too much" dessert or pass on it altogether. I see her watching me watch myself in the mirror as I pass by. How does my reflection look.
We are hungry - yes. Figuring out what we are hungry for is the work.
Thank you so much for sharing. I feel your comment so deeply and am very committed to not passing down food issues to my children, too. Such an important part of recovery that I think gets glossed over. All of a sudden we subtract our "substance of choice" and then all of the really tough stuff emerges... The good news is that we are in this together!
