Recovery is a journey into new beginnings. It is a process of learning how to hope. Loving ourselves and others. It is a wandering into new passions and purpose. Discovering the freedom of forgiveness. Recovery is a rebirth.
The new year is also an opportunity to start again.
Re-focus.
Reset.
Re-engage.
Redefine.
Discover those places where we want—and need—to grow to live more fully, freely, joyfully, present.
Where is your recovery (or that of someone you love or work with) going in 2024? What are you doing to thrive and what is important to you? Complete this brief survey for a chance to win a $25 Amazon gift card in January!
In December (which feels far away already), I sent out a survey and I learned so much from you about what makes your recovery work, how you are thriving, and also things that you’d like to learn about and focus on in the new year. Based on your feedback, here are the areas that are the most important in your journey right now:
Mental Health and Wellness - and addressing things like anxiety and depression
Recovery Pathways - and exploring ways we can let go of lonely
Sharing Stories of Recovery - and discovering how creativity can promote healing
I’ve decided to keep the survey going because it’s been so incredible hearing and learning from you. Take a couple minutes to take the survey now.
This year, together, let’s explore the areas of the recovery journey that we care about.
Let’s discover how to address things like anxiety, depression, and mental health challenges that may be holding us back.
Let’s learn how to embrace our struggles as opportunities that will propel us forward.
Let’s explore the variety of pathways that can lead to greater self-awareness, clarity, and connection in life and recovery.
Let’s learn more about inter-generational trauma and how we can heal our families.
And, finally, let’s learn more about a creative recovery. What this means and how we can nurture it.
Whew - that’s quite the list with a bold promise. I’m ready. Are you? Let’s GO!
Something new is on its way and I can’t wait to share more!
BTW, I’ll be offering something NEW and EXCITING in 2024 that will help us to expand our creativity and see how this might just reinvigorate our recovery (or our loved ones’ recoveries)! Announcement coming soon!
HINT: if you are someone who loves recovery and loves to learn - send me a private message here. You are going to want to be the first to know about a new offering launching soon!
If you missed it, here was my Facebook Live discussion where I talked about triggers and how to thrive during the holidays (this can apply all year long). There are practical ways that we can promote resilience when we are triggered.
PS. Did you also know that TODAY I’M CELEBRATING A RECOVERY BIRTHDAY (13 to be exact)?
In the rooms of recovery meetings or other types of support groups like divorce or grief support groups, there is usually a circle of chairs (the name of this newsletter for a reason). I love this image. It is a visual reminder that we are never alone. We can have, if we choose, a circle of support around us as we go to the deep places, the hard places in our stories. Not to stay there, but to be transformed.
Thank you for my recovery - one day at a time.
This year, I’m so excited and honored to be on this journey with you. Together, let’s journey into the new.
