The whole idea of having “character defects” was overwhelming to me at first and felt like such a punitive notion. Something I would never overcome and always live with, hanging over my head. This book made me feel like it was something I could manage. I liked how it talks about turning our shortcomings around and reframing them. Rework our denial into acceptance. Selfishness into service. Self hate into self respect. Anxiety into serenity. And that simply by practicing the 12 steps, one is able to work towards these things. Progress not perfection.
I do love Drop the Rock! 😀
Thanks for reading! Can I ask what it is specifically that you love about it?

Love this response and thanks so much. I love understanding what makes a book so powerful and the things that those of us in recovery connect to.
