You are Invited to the 4th Annual International Women's Day Global Recovery Event on March 8th
This year is going to be even more amazing with a NEW open call for speakers and live event!
I’ve been keeping this secret for too long and FINALLY get to share with you about this upcoming annual event!!!
We are doing some new things this year and I can’t wait to share more.
This event aims to bring together voices from around the world to amplify women's experiences and achievements in recovery advocacy. This year we are having an open call for speakers, welcoming new partner organizations, and simplifying the process for getting involved!
This event is proudly supported by Circle of Chairs, Recovery Collective Online, Meghann Perry Group, McShin Foundation, Young People in Recovery, Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR), Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery (MOAR), the Global Family Recovery Alliance, and more organizations and partners to be announced soon!
Did you know that my vision for this event in 2020 has grown exponentially over the past 4 years and this year? Read this to learn about last year’s event and check out just some of the speakers we’ve heard from in previous years.
The International Women’s Day Global Recovery Event is a unique platform dedicated to raising awareness of the intersecting issues specific to women’s addiction and mental health recovery. Our goals are to highlight the global impact of women’s recovery journeys, promote the significance of storytelling in reducing stigma, and provide practical ways for attendees to make a difference in their local communities.
Our Collective Focus
Together, we can increase awareness about women’s recovery and celebrate together. Let’s join together to enhance:
Local Impact: Expanding our reach to include live events at local communities, with this year’s LIVE EVENT being announced soon.
Community Participation: Encouraging women to share their stories through our new submission process starting at the end of January.
Calls to Action: Building on previous events to inspire actionable steps for community involvement.
Stigma Reduction: Facilitating evidence-based activities to reduce stigma and foster personal connections with those with lived recovery experiences.
Open Call for Speakers
This year we are having an open call for speakers because your voice matters. We are all a part of the global voices of women in recovery.
Please consider this opportunity to contribute to a global conversation on women’s recovery and help us make a meaningful impact.
To express your interest in speaking at the event, please complete this brief form by Friday January 24th. If you have any questions or need further information, feel free to reach out.
Local Community Events
This year we are encouraging YOU to host your own International Women’s Day event! We will provide you with a Watch Party Toolkit and share more information on how to host a local event. This could be an informal viewing of the virtual event, a panel discussion, ladies’ brunch, clothing drive, or a host of other options!
How can your local community help to raise awareness about women’s recovery and celebrate IWD?
Bring your people together and start planning with our help. Send a DM if you’d like more information or to get a free Watch Party toolkit!
We can’t wait to see you there! Register now to save your spot.
And… if you missed it, listen in on a very candid conversation with one of my new favorite women writers in this lovely community.
