Can we dare to envision a future where the spectrum of our experiences and identities is not just acknowledged but celebrated?
Where recovery is not a whispered word but a proud proclamation of resilience and transformation?
If you were there on last Friday, International Women's Day, we came together, rooted in hope and solidarity, to imagine such a future—a future where recovery is a journey we honor collectively. A place where we all can bloom.
We heard from so many incredible people about why it’s important to rise rooted with the next generation of recovery. We also learned that events such as the International Women’s Day event aren’t about any one organization or individual. They are about us. Together.
The stories of recovery that we share, pave the way for a future where the next generation can access the resources and support they need to navigate the challenges of addiction and recovery.
Together, we can work to eliminate the stigma surrounding addiction and mental health, and promote recovery not just as an individual process, but as a collective movement.
The Evolving Narrative of Recovery
Recovery is stepping into the light.
Recovery is reshaping the narrative.
Recovery is a story of our becoming, a story not just of battling or overcoming obstacles but of embracing a journey toward healing and self-discovery.
Recovery also isn’t just about our own journey.
Our collective mission transcends the boundaries of organizations and individual efforts. It's a call to action for all who support recovery, emphasizing the significance of women's recovery and the value of the next generation.
The Power of Community and Connection
When we rise rooted together, we create a foundation strong enough to support the weight of our collective healing.
Listening to the next generation, we learn new perspectives and approaches to recovery, enriching our understanding and deepening our connection to this vital process.
International Women's Day offers a unique opportunity to acknowledge the myriad pathways to healing and wholeness. It's a day to celebrate the strength that comes from connecting in community, from sharing our stories and lifting each other up.
We can continue to celebrate through the month of March - Women’s History Month - and find ways to continue to lift up our voices of recovery.
Keep paying attention to the small things that sing to you: “Through all you have been through, there is still room for a beautiful onward movement here. Through it all, there is still this rising sun. Through it all, there is still more to come.” - Morgan Harper Nichols
Are You Ready to Rise Rooted Together?
How can we hold and uphold space for the stories, the struggles, and the triumphs of those of us on the journey of recovery, especially women?
Let's commit to learning, to listening, and to growing together. The future we imagine—a future where recovery is celebrated and supported—is not just a dream. It's a possibility, within reach, if we choose to rise rooted, together.
Are you ready?
